Role Summary:

Biocon Biologics Limited is seeking a Senior Executive in the Business Finance department. This role involves independently handling inventory valuation processes and ensuring accurate financial reporting related to inventory across the organization. The Senior Executive will manage complex reconciliations, perform in-depth analyses, and liaise with various teams to maintain inventory controls and compliance.

Key responsibilities include preparing detailed reports for inventory valuation, tracking inventory movements, analyzing provisions and write-offs, and ensuring correct financial postings. The role requires a meticulous approach, strong analytical skills, and experience in working with large datasets related to inventory management and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage inventory valuation processes for BBL Entity.
  • Perform ML run and reconcile inventory dumps with financial general ledger (GL).
  • Track non-valued inventory movement, analyzing changes by category (Quality, R&D, Expiry).
  • Prepare and share closing inventory details with GL teams after finalization.
  • Conduct inventory provision workings and analyze movements against previous months and quarters.
  • Maintain and update inventory write-off trackers.
  • Prepare overhead movement workings for finished goods and semi-finished goods.
  • Maintain monthly batch failure trackers.
  • Adjust goods-in-transit values for inventory valuation.
  • Prepare profit elimination workings quarterly where applicable.
  • Calculate slow-moving inventory provisions.
  • Group products batch-wise for reporting and analysis.
  • Prepare consolidated backup reports for L1, L2, and market inventory, including MIS reports for location, product, category, and market-wise details.
  • Coordinate with Supply Chain Management (SCM) for inventory and MIS preparation.
  • Ensure materials purchased for R&D with WBS codes are cross-charged appropriately.
  • Analyze near-expiry risk details monthly.
  • Escalate issues to SCM regarding finished and semi-finished goods batches exceeding 90 days and collect reasons.
  • Maintain inventory trackers for special project materials and third-party manufacturing locations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly provision and write-off backup workings, along with operations performance trackers.
  • Consolidate subcontract-related material details for reporting to Biocon Ltd., covering closing inventory, purchase, and consumption.
  • Compile project-related material details for the Project Management team.
  • Prepare board deck slides quarterly for senior management reviews.
  • Perform demand coverage working and calculate month-on-hold inventory at product levels.
  • Develop rolling forecast workings based on inputs from SCM teams or SAP IBP Dumo for monthly holding analyses.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce (B.COM) is mandatory.
  • 4–8 years of relevant experience in inventory valuation, financial reconciliation, and business finance operations.
  • Proficiency in preparing financial reports and reconciliations.
  • Strong skills in handling large volumes of data and creating meaningful analyses.
  • Working knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is highly desirable.
  • Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams such as Supply Chain, Project Management, and Finance.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills for preparing presentations and reports for management.
